The Truth Lies Somewhere in the Middle

This project was a commission for the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to spark wider public understanding of the physical history of the museum site. A video and sculptural installation, it investigates how the characteristics of the ground beneath YBCA inform vulnerabilities to climate change and social resilience in the SOMA neighborhood.
The image and audio components fracture, interrupt, and disintegrate into one another, revealing the disjointed ways in which we come to understand the complex truth of the site.
Working with artists Annie Albagli and Erica Molesworth, I developed an immersive audio, video and sculptural installation, including series of seats crafted as a core sample of the materials found underneath the site. This project was developed as part of a yearlong fellowship at YBCA in 2017-2018.
